By the time he was five years old, Dr. Manzano-Maceira's entire family knew he would go into medicine.
"I don't remember how or what I did, but I was able to remove a Lego that was stuck in my cousin's throat," says Dr. Manzano-Maceira. "The rest of my family was panicking. My mother says after that they all knew I'd be a doctor." Today, his favorite part of being a doctor is trying to make the world a healthier place. "I enjoy being involved with my patients and listening to them. I don't want to be just some guy they see from time to time in order to get their medication refilled," says Dr. Manzano-Maceira.
